I've never understood how you couldn't love Joe Paterno. Say what you will about the man -- he's too old, he's too this, too that -- but the man represents many of the things that are right with college football....
GOP Leader Waking Up?

Frist to take on border bill first

Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist said yesterday that the Senate will tackle border security and interior immigration enforcement before turning to the broader question of immigration reforms and a guest-worker program. "It is a separate issue, but it's one that people understand," the Tennessee Republican said of border security. "It's an immediate issue, it needs to be addressed more aggressively, we need to do that."

This is only encouraging. While Frist doesn't sound nearly as clear on the border issue as Cong. Tom Tancredo (R-CO) does, he's apparently moving in a better direction - which is NOT what the administration really wants to see.

Sicily, Italy to be Linked

Here's a brief video clip about a planned bridge between Sicily and the the Italian mainland at the Straits of Messina.

That would be a really cool piece of engineering - the only snag could be the cost, which is of course something of a political football with elections upcoming.

Time will tell.

The constitution has become meaningless

From Rush Limbaugh: Here is Justice Breyer once again talking about foreign law, and this goes right to the point that I was trying to make to Trudy and I have for several weeks, months, if you will, on this...
