OU Football Bomber Questions

Why Aren't We Being Told More Facts About the OKlahoma Suicide Bomber?
What are the FBI and Joint Terrorism Task Force Investigating?

A very interesting post. When the Chief first heard about this one, he had a real question about the first released version of events. Even the sparse circumstances reported at the tiem seemed to suggest more than was admitted to.

Read the details here, and like me, you'll have even more questions. The final bit of icing on the cake:

Finally, if Hinrichs was just a disturbed guy who decided to kill himself with a bomb 100 yards from a crowd of 84,000 people instead of simply putting a bullet through his temple, slashing his wrists or some other traditional way of doing away with himself, why is the FBI and the Joint Terrorism Task Force now the lead agency in the investigation?

Read the whole post - terrorism sure looks likely. If it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck, then chances are, it IS a duck!

Here's another report, that the bomber was inquiring about getting a bunch of ammonium nitrate - the main ingredient in an ANFO (ammonium nitrate-fuel oil) bomb. (Remember the Murrah building?) Curiouser and curiouser!

Harriet Miers

I had some original thoughts on President Bush's nominee to the Supreme Court, Harriet Miers, but now that I have time to blog on them I see all my thoughts have been taken by other bloggers. Since I can't come...
When You Fail In Philly, You're Going to Fail Everywhere

Air America is out in Philadelphia, America's sixth largest market by population. Philly is also one of America's most liberal markets to boot. If you can't make it there, you can't make it anywhere. And Katherine Lanpher, the woman paid...

In Midcareer, a Turn to Faith to Fill a Void

Interesting backgrounder. If accurate, it tends to reinforce the cautiously optimistic part of the Chief's evaluation of the appointment brouhaha.

Chicken Hawks R Us

Professor Schaff below gives a very serious reason why Chad's Chicken Hawk argument is dreadful. It is, among, other things, a classical fallacy, referred to as an ad hominem argument. In that form, you argue that X must be wrong...
NE for Miers

In coordination with Progress for America, several states have launched websites in support of Harriet Miers. Nebraska is one of them: NEforJusticeMiers.com. The ad-hoc coalition is chaired by Steve Grasz, former Chief Deputy Attorney General for Nebraska....
Bush breaks promise

From Michelle Malkin: A small minority of readers say we should wait and see, trust Bush, and hold out hope that Miers is a stealth candidate. This last line of defense is truly pathetic. We have a Republican House. A...
OU Bomber

If you follow the news closely at all, you'll remember the Oklahoma student who blew himself up in an apparent "suicide" outside the stadium at last weekend's OU - Kansas State game. Turns out that this might have been more...
