#3,000 and #500

Today was a milestone day and I almost didn't realize it. This post you're reading is the 3,000th post since I moved to Typepad full-time in December of 2003; sometime today or last night long-time, valued commenter mike left the...
International Answer

In an earlier post that attracted some attention, I quoted Christopher Hitchen's piece on the organizers of the anti-war rally in Washington. Hitchens points to David Corn's LA Weekly expose on International Answer, one of the two major sponsors of...
Score One For the Good Guys

It's been a crazy week if you've devoted any time to trying to monitor the moonbats. I myself have had to bite my tongue more than once when posting on some of the "anti-war" demonstrations over the weekend. But it...

Switch of Radio Stations Signals Cards' Latest Break From Old St. Louis

The Chief grew up in St. Louis, and remembers laying in bed as a kid on hot muggy summer nights watching the glowing tubes of an old AM radio while listening to the Cardinals play on KMOX radio. Later on, while in college and working nights there were even more hours listening. Travel away from St. Louis, and even moving to South Dakota, KMOX and the Cardinals were an electromagnetic beacon carrying an emotional constant connection to the city on the river.

So now comes the word that the Cards are to bail out from the clear channel KMOX and go to a much smaller station. So much for listening to the games on the radio at night from the expatriate location up here on the northern plains.

This story in the WaPo does a truly excellent job of explaining the whole situation of the shift, and the response of St. Louis and the Cardinal fans to the changes. I suppose there is commercial wisdom, or at least advantage at work here, but it still leaves a hollow spot knowing that a life-long relationship is soon to become so much dust in the wind. Sic transit gloria mundi.

What the San Francisco Chronicle Left Out

A bang up piece of blogging about a photograph that appeared in the San Francisco Chronicle. This is the photo: Its a dynamite photo. But what it leaves out is very important. To see the rest, go to Zombie Time....
Hate America Center Bloats Up, Goes "Bang!" In the Sun

The moonbats who wanted to build an International "Freedom" Center at Ground Zero didn't care much for their options after Governor Pataki told them to take a hike yesterday. So, doggone it, they're just not going to build anywhere at...
Hitchens, Galloway Hosted By Unfunny White Guy

I can't say as though I've ever watched Bill Maher's show on HBO, but couldn't resist tuning in tonight to see George Galloway and Christopher Hitchens. It was about what you'd expect, and nothing worth noting. Galloway truly is treacherous...
Factoid

I was watching my TiVo'd Battlestar Galactica season finale tonight (ep: Pegasus), when something in the opening credits caught my eye. Maybe sort of a subliminal thing, as I couldn't put my finger on why I had to rewind and...
