Brady campaign against self-defense

From the AP: Earlier this year, gun control advocates failed to block a Florida bill allowing people to use deadly force in the street to defend themselves. The advocates vow not to let that happen in Michigan. The battle in...
Galveston

Earlier today I mentioned that the media ought to watch Galveston and look for positives in their evacuation. The reason I did so was simple, really: I didn't think there was any way possible for Galveston to f**k up their...
A.N.S.W.E.R. Hates You

Tens (or even hundreds) of thousands of shrieking moonbats will be converging around the country today. C-SPAN reports that the list of heavyweights include several notorious for sympathizing with terrorists and/or hating on Israel, the only true democracy in existence...
More Patriot Act

I blogged on the Patriot Act a couple days ago. Now the only radio talk show host I can stand, the very intelligent Dennis Prager, takes up the fight. Although the column in its entirety is a bit weak, I...

Switch of Radio Stations Signals Cards' Latest Break From Old St. Louis

The Chief grew up in St. Louis, and remembers laying in bed as a kid on hot muggy summer nights watching the glowing tubes of an old AM radio while listening to the Cardinals play on KMOX radio. Later on, while in college and working nights there were even more hours listening. Travel away from St. Louis, and even moving to South Dakota, KMOX and the Cardinals were an electromagnetic beacon carrying an emotional constant connection to the city on the river.

So now comes the word that the Cards are to bail out from the clear channel KMOX and go to a much smaller station. So much for listening to the games on the radio at night from the expatriate location up here on the northern plains.

This story in the WaPo does a truly excellent job of explaining the whole situation of the shift, and the response of St. Louis and the Cardinal fans to the changes. I suppose there is commercial wisdom, or at least advantage at work here, but it still leaves a hollow spot knowing that a life-long relationship is soon to become so much dust in the wind. Sic transit gloria mundi.

More Democrat values

For no particular reason, and in no particular order, here are some snippets of my own private dementia. I really dislike years that end in odd numbers. Writing an odd number on the end always bugs me. This year, 2005,...
