More on global warming and Katrina

WorldNetDaily is reporting that Air America is also spreading the far-left propaganda (surprised?):Do President Bush and so-called global warming have anything to do with the catastrophic damage caused by Hurricane Katrina? Yes, according to some politicians and public figures, who...
SCOTUS Chief Justice - R.I.P.

Chief Justice Rehnquist dies of cancer

This is not a major surprise, since Justice Rehnquist's health problems had been known for some time.

Now there are two open seats on the court, with the new court term opening in October, it looks like the fireworks over SCOTUS appointments will really fire up now in the Senate. Donk filibuster(s)? Could be. Attempted Borking of nominees? The Chief would count on it - Donks are Donks, all their leadership knows any more is mind-numbing DUmmie rhetoric and tactics.

Another point: according to the Donks' logic on Judge Roberts replacing Justice O'COnnor, they CLAIMED that they wanted to see someone of similar ideological bent to maintian the current alignment of the court. Now that Rehnquist, a conservative has passed on, will they be willing to cheerfully accept a conservative replacement, to maintain that same balance? Hmmmm?

The Chief is willing to quess there's as much chance of this as there was for Billy Graham to be named Pope.

The Fake and the Dead

Greyhawk's must-read post on the "Kodee Kennings" fake-o-rama that plagued the SIU-Carbondale school newspaper: There are two types of Iraq war veterans that have a tremendous appeal to the anti-war crowd - the fictional and the dead. Both types have...

Gulf Coast Disaster Beyond Words

Chief nearly rendered speechless

The disaster resulting from Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans & environs, and coastal Mississippi and Alabama is of such a scope that descriptive terminology somehow falls flat in the face of the reality.

As more news comes out, the situation only worsens, at least thus far. Perhaps the description "...of Biblical proportions." is appropriate for once.

Our prayers go out to those affected, and we wish them as speedy a resolution to thier problems as may be possible.

The OTHER aspect of this that renders one speechless - but for a different reason are the attempts of certain libDonks to blame the problem on Bush and other conservatives. What a total crock. The Chief would like to slap 'em up side the head, except for the fact that s--t splatters. RFK Jr., and the others of their ilk on both sides of the Atlantic once and for all need to get a #12 cork installed in their pie holes.

Not-So-Super

Life in the Super Dome in N.O. -- where many of the fleeing people went who had nowhere else to go -- may get ugly. This is all worst case scenario type stuff, and I really hate to indulge in...
Sheehan "Glad"

Thank heavens for small miracles. A woman who led an anti-war protest for nearly a month near President Bush's ranch said Tuesday that she's glad Bush never showed up to discuss her son's death in Iraq, saying the president's absence...
