Daschle on Ellsworth: It was no big deal
Of course the former Senator his happy and whatever efforts he did make are appreciated. And he also says the issue was not that big of a deal in the 2004 election. [Daschle] said Friday that he has helped the...
CINCPAC: ChiCom Naval Buildup Raises Questions
Why does China need that navy?
The new commander of the U.S. Pacific Fleet, Adm. Gary Roughhead, an interested onlooker of the joint Chinese-Russian military maneuvers during the past eight days, has posed a critical question about the rapidly modernizing Chinese navy: "What do [the Chinese] see as the intended use of that navy?
If that navy "is to ensure the free flow of commerce, that would not be surprising," he said, nodding toward the sea lanes in the South China and East China seas through which pass the oil and raw materials that feed China's expanding economy, not to mention its soaring exports. The admiral added, however: "What if the intent is not purely to defend the sea lanes?" He left the question open.
Indeed. That IS the question.

Moonbats Win Standing for "Global Warming:"
Federal Judge OKs Global Warming Lawsuit
Although the status of Global Warming, and even more so, the extent of human involvement in causing it is very much in question (in spite of the MSM mantras to the contrary), this judge has declared that envirowacko groups have the unprecedented right to sue companies for "damage" to the plaintiffs caused by projects overseas!
Let's see now. A claim for damages to a moonbat in San Francisco from a project in Sri Lanka, for example, may be grounds for a lawsuit for specific damages to said moonbat.
The Chief sure has trouble tracing the causal chain on THIS one, but then again, for a "progressive" judge, anything goes.
Hagel: Let's Negotiate
Chuck Hagel has been immensely quotable the last couple of days. Is he running for something? In an interview with Reuters during a trip across his home state on Wednesday, Hagel said the United States should greet the new Iranian...
The Clean Cut Kid is Right, and a Little Wrong.
Seth at CCK excoriated conservatives for defending Dobson's comments, so its nice that he has now torn into Pat Robertson and Paul Harvey. It gives me a chance to join my colleague, Professor Schaff, in not defending Robertson or what...
