More on KOS and Ellsworth

Quentin mentions just below the Daily Kos and some comments on Ellsworth posted Tuesday. KOS's comment on today's news is priceless. Someone took pity on poor Sen. Thune and spared SD's base from closure. The commission is voting on which...
Iraq Blog, etc.

This blog by Michael Yon has received much attention in the last couple days, including stories from the Star Tribune and Powerline. If you want real Ernie Pyle type war reporting, Yon seems to be the only game in town....
The Upshot

The case being made is familiar. On the commission's own standards Ellsworth scored well and just as high or higher than Dyess on various criteria. Consolidating the B-1 to one base is a bad idea. Pending lawsuits at Dyess make...
New York Times on Thune

The New York Times has a story this morning about Thune and Ellsworth:He pulled out all the stops and virtually camped out at the commission hearings being held at a hotel just outside Washington, buttonholing anyone he could to make...
Administration Shows Signs of Wake-up Call on Borders

Bush gives in to pressure over illegal migrants

Sounds here like someone in the administration finally woke up and smelled the coffee on the issue of border enforecement. With the emergency declarations of Arizona's and New Mexico's Donk governors, they must have figured out that they were in serious danger of being outflanked on the right by the Donks. Whatever works to get them going!

Now, the test of time: will some things actually begin to improove, or is Chertoff paying little more than lip service? The Chief hopes for the former, but all too often in the past the performance has been the later. Stay tuned, time WILL tell.

An Air Scamerica Update

Brian Maloney and Michelle Malkin have been publishing a multi-part series of "Inside Air America" pieces that will likely shed new light on some of Err America's past operations. It appears to be a very good bit of investigative blogging,...

Brits Have the Right Idea

Britain to expel for 'hate' speech

Democratic or not, there is no reason why open sedition has to be accepted, tolerated, or granted acceptance under "free expression". Democracy is NOT a suicide pact. Tony Blair's Britain has figured this out - would it be so that the Administration would finally do the same.

Mr. Clarke itemized a list of "unacceptable behavior" to signal the start of a crackdown that Prime Minister Tony Blair alluded to earlier this month when he said, "Let no one be in any doubt that the rules of the game are changing." The list announced by Mr. Clarke includes any act or speech that: ? Foments, justifies or glorifies terrorist violence. ? Seeks to provoke others to terrorist acts. ? Foments other serious criminal actions or attempts to provoke others to commit serious crimes. ? Fosters hatred that threatens to lead to ethnic violence. Unlike the United States, Britain has no First Amendment and some restrictions on free speech and a free press are enshrined in law. For example, reporters covering public trials are often limited on what they can write or say about court proceedings.

Again, First Amendment or not, there is NO constitutional right to sedition!

Ship 'em out, post-haste!
