Brits Continue Terror Crackdown

Preachers of hate could be charged with treason

The UK continues to make some resolute moves to step on the Islamofascist terrs and their supporters.

The Chief thinks that it is past high time for them as well as us to lose out fear of calling a spade a spade - and using the T-word for more than taking up an entry in the dictionary.

Score one for PETA: People Eating Tasty Animals!

Meat demand grows faster than rabbits

Talk about culinary irony -- rabbit meat is in short supply. Despite the critters' proclivity to reproduce, demand for rabbit meat has surged in recent years, and breeders are struggling to supply the many trendy restaurants adding it to their menus.

Also, what about possible egg shortages if there is a short supply of easter bunnies?

Poll: Canadian Successionist Sentiments Strong

Westerners considering separation

More than one-third of western Canadians surveyed this summer thought it was time to consider separation from Canada, a poll suggests. In the survey, 35.6 per cent of respondents from Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta and British Columbia agreed with the statement: Western Canadians should begin to explore the idea of forming their own country.

Interesting. According to historians, about 1/3 of the colonists in what became the United States were in favor of that independence movement, so maybe there's enough sentiment up there for something to happen, eh?

"Fly Me to the Moon..."

Private Company Plans Tour Around the Moon

Space Adventures, a company based in Arlington, Va., has already sent two tourists into orbit. Today, it is to unveil an agreement with Russian space officials to send two passengers on a voyage lasting 10 to 21 days, depending partly on its itinerary and whether it includes the International Space Station. A roundtrip ticket will cost $100 million. The space-faring tourists will travel with a Russian pilot. They will steer clear of the greater technical challenge of landing on the Moon, instead circling it and returning to Earth.

The Chief has to like this one, big time. Anything that extends our presence in space is a positive - and this will reinforce the moves for NASA to re-extend itself in the direction of lunar basing.

Granted there's not any new technology in this, but what of it? Columbus, and those who came after him didn't use "new technology" either to explore and settle a "new world".

Morality and the mainstream

otI have noticed how the South Dakota Democrats have taken offense to the conservative?s position on issues like abortion. Their approach is that politics should be void of moral values. That is probably why they lie so much. Lying is...

Deferred success?

From Mark Steyn: The other day an official with a British teachers' union proposed that the concept of failing exams should be abolished. Instead of being given a failing grade, she said, the pupil would instead be given a deferred...
