Who are they ?consulting? for?

That was my question: Marie, I?ve been told that some of these boys are actually employed as consultants. Who are they consulting for? We already know the answer to that question don?t we. They all remain just under the radar...
Shorter British Policy: Look For Those Who Might Want To Kill Us

How the British are doing it: British Transport Police have been targeting specific ethnic groups for "intelligence-led" stop-and-searches as part of their heightened security measures. BTP Chief Constable Ian Johnston said that his officers would not "waste time searching old...

Mexican mercenaries expand base into U.S.

A renegade band of Mexican military deserters, offering $50,000 bounties for the assassination of U.S. law-enforcement officers, has expanded its base of operations into the United States to protect loads of cocaine and marijuana being brought into America by Mexican smugglers, authorities said.

This one is just about too much to think about. All I can say is have a good supply of ammo on hand, because at this rate you'll need it!

By the way, where is General Pershing now that we REALLY need him?

ChiComs Give Up on Oil Deal

Backlash ends Chinese bid for Unocal

China's CNOOC Ltd. on Tuesday abandoned a bold $18.5 billion offer to acquire Unocal Corp. (UCL) in the face of strident political opposition

This generated enough of an uproar, that the ChiComs' CNOOC gave up on trying to snarf up UNOCAL in an $18B+ deal. IT seems that lots of folks here felt pretty queasy about this one, and that concern managed to penetrate into Congress and elsewhere in D.C. Finally the ChiComs decided that it was more trouble than it was worth.

The Chief has a hunch that there's a bit more to it than that - perhaps the backdown was to keep us from getting too riled up at them before they're ready for their moves on Taiwan. In other words, they want to keep the sleeping giant asleep. Hopefully it doesn't work out for them that way.
