Anonymity In the South Dakota Blogosphere

It's certainly been an odd week up in my old South Dakota stomping grounds. First off, it appears that Bob Novak (yeah, that Bob Novak) was/is planning some sort of story on the anti-Thune bloggers up there. This comes hot...

The truth about America?s founding

Check this out: D. James Kennedy, Ph.D., hosts this unforgettable one-hour of discovery to find the truth about America's founding. Filmed at Mount Vernon, the Library of Congress, Williamsburg, and Yorktown, and featuring scholars such as David Barton, Peter Marshall,...
Terror War: Why We Fight It!

This post over at the Anti-idiotarian Rottweiler is definitely as clear a refutation of the moonbat anti-war weasels as the Chief thinks he has seen anywhere. The Emperor Misha has outdone himself for sure, and for the record the Chief heartily endorses the message. Go over there and check it out!

Included in this is a link to this flash documentary. It speaks for itself, and like Misha says, is a MUST VIEW, so be sure to do it.

Shorter British Policy: Look For Those Who Might Want To Kill Us

How the British are doing it: British Transport Police have been targeting specific ethnic groups for "intelligence-led" stop-and-searches as part of their heightened security measures. BTP Chief Constable Ian Johnston said that his officers would not "waste time searching old...

NRA boycotts Conoco

From NewsMax: The National Rifle Association is urging its 4 million members to boycott ConocoPhillips gas stations and products because the oil giant is trying to block an Oklahoma law that allows employees to keep guns in their cars when...
ChiComs Give Up on Oil Deal

Backlash ends Chinese bid for Unocal

China's CNOOC Ltd. on Tuesday abandoned a bold $18.5 billion offer to acquire Unocal Corp. (UCL) in the face of strident political opposition

This generated enough of an uproar, that the ChiComs' CNOOC gave up on trying to snarf up UNOCAL in an $18B+ deal. IT seems that lots of folks here felt pretty queasy about this one, and that concern managed to penetrate into Congress and elsewhere in D.C. Finally the ChiComs decided that it was more trouble than it was worth.

The Chief has a hunch that there's a bit more to it than that - perhaps the backdown was to keep us from getting too riled up at them before they're ready for their moves on Taiwan. In other words, they want to keep the sleeping giant asleep. Hopefully it doesn't work out for them that way.
