Protesters: Open the Borders, Run up the White Flag?

Hispanic, Islamic Groups Want Tancredo Out

First reaction: So? - We want THEM out! If they're here, and don't think the USA is worth defending, then they shouldn't let the door hit 'em in the butt on the way out!

Hispanic and Muslim groups called on Rep. Tom Tancredo to resign Monday, saying he has embarrassed Colorado by suggesting that Americans bomb Islamic holy sites if terrorists launch a nuclear attack on the United States. They also criticized the GOP congressman's staunch advocacy of tougher immigration controls.

I'm not sure what the linkage is here - oh yeah - wait a minute: open borders benefit BOTH groups - terrs AND wetbacks BOTH get a free pass in! (This would be like German ancestry Americans protesting the sinking of a U-boat after it had torpedoed an American ship in 1940 - which actually happened, but without the protest.)

"Enough is enough. We're here to say 'Stop,'" Hispanic activist Manolo Gonzalez-Estay told a crowd of about 200 people at the state Capitol.

Holy buckets! I AGREE WITH HIM! Enough IS enough! It IS time to STOP - to stop running the border and go back home!

Abdur-Rahim Ali, imam of the Northeast Denver Islamic Center, said Tancredo's statement that "you could take out" Islamic holy sites in a retaliatory attack was unacceptable. "What would happen if a prominent Muslim made that statement about Catholic holy places like the Vatican?" asked Ali.

Uh, Ali, hate to tell you bud - but it's already been said by some of your peace-loving co-religionists.

Tancredo's spokesman, Will Adams, said the four-term congressman would not comment on the rally, but has no intention of apologizing or resigning. "They are a lot more upset about what he stands for, our nation's security and border policy, than anything else," Adams said.

Yep. That's the crux of the whole issue!

Leslie Hanks went to the rally with a sign supporting Tancredo for president. "I'm very proud of him," Hanks said.

Hmmm. I could get behind THAT idea real easily!
